Chất phụ gia (Additive manufacturing) là quá trình kết nối vật liệu để hình thành nên vật thể cần gia công từ dữ liệu mô hình 3D, bằng cách xây dựng lần lượt từng lớp. Đối lập với AM là công nghệ sản xuất truyền thống (Subtractive manufacturing) như cắt gọt. Những tên gọi khác của AM là sản xuất bồi đắp là sản xuất kỹ thuật số, tạo mẫu nhanh, in 3D... Để hiểu rõ hơn Cục Thông tin khoa học và công nghệ quốc gia xin giới thiệu một số bài nghiên cứu đã được xuất bản chính thức và các bài viết được chấp nhận đăng trên những cơ sở dữ liệu học thuật chính thống.
